9×12 print of acrylic on canvas
My first painting that I didn’t draw first. We used to visit here as children. The Heidelberg castle is eclipsed by the bridge and to put what you would see of it would distract from the bridge. The German title means “old bridge”. This view is looking south. In reserching the bridge I found out that The Americans never bombed Heidelberg. The north end of this bridge was blown up by the nazis .
This made for better relations with the U.S.after the war.
Heidelberg was also part of an early democracy in the middle ages.
